Our Future at 310 S. Monroe
S
ince its construction in 1928, thousands of women have made the
Tau Beta house their collegiate home. It was there that we learned
valuable leadership lessons and formed lifelong friendships that we
continue to enjoy and draw support from today.
Yet, even with careful attention and maintenance, the infrastructure
is now 92 years old, and time has taken a toll on our beloved
home. Addressing the increasingly frequent infrastructure issues
to ensure the health and welfare of our membership is becoming
financially burdensome. Also, while we are pleased that the
Chapter's large membership means we are sharing the values
of Chi Omega with more young women, there is simply not enough
space to accommodate daily needs and use.
In 2018, the Tau Beta House Corporation completed a needs assessment
and feasibility study. It was determined that to continue our legacy
we must rebuild our house to reflect the level of excellence for
which Tau Beta is known. The Tau Beta House Corporation engaged
Tulsa-based firm Selser Schaefer Architects to design our new
home. The plans allow us to build a house that is simultaneously
timeless, elegant, and modern, while providing upgraded living
space and modern technology to support the academic pursuits of
our members.
