Spring is in the air and love is all around us and it looks like the Fayetteville City Council has sent our new City Manager, Ted Vorhees, out in search of a love interest. I guess with Vorhees being new in town and not really familiar with the lay of the land, they figured they would help him out a bit by pointing him in the direction of Eastern Boulevard where it was rumored lived a maiden who was the "fairest of them all: Miss PWC." Oh, what a catch that would be they told him, and how proud the city council and mayor would be if he could capture the heart of this fair maiden. Wow! Miss PWC! Word on the street is that she is a solid 10. She's big, she's beautiful, she's intelligent PWC Administrative offices. and, she's rich! She lives in the center of a wellmanicured estate surrounded by hundreds of workers, servants and handmaidens. Everyone in her organization works diligently and efficiently to maintain and protect her beauty, stature, dignity and virtue. So far so good, right? Well, maybe not. As Vorhees cheerfully approaches Miss PWC's domain, he hears music. It's a song, but one that he was too young to recognize. He can hear it clearly now: "They say don't go: On Wolverton Mountain, if you're lookin ... for a wife, cause Clifton Clowers, has pretty young daughter, and he's mighty handy with a gun and knife." Whoops! Second thoughts are now setting in. His adrenaline starts flowing. Decision time: Fight or flight? Hmmmm? Maybe this isn't such a good idea after all. Maybe, just maybe, there are reasons that Miss PWC has grown up to be as beautiful, radiant and rich as she is. She can afford to be selective, especially when her suitors continually bring so little to the relationship. It will be interesting to see how this venture plays out. Don't hate her because she's beautiful. Miss PWC is loving, generous and has a big heart. She's dependable, accessible, honest and willing to share her talents and vast knowledge. However, her suitors seem only to be after one thing and Miss PWC is aware of that. How will this scenario play out for our young city manager? I have no idea, but, if history is any measure, a broken heart always fairs better than a broken man. If it were me, I would suggest they recommend to Voorhees Christian Mingle or Match.com. They would be safer. Stay tuned in for more of the saga.
