F or 70 years, Delta Tau Delta has been an important part of the Okla- homa State community. From our founding in 1949, our fraternity has positively shaped the lives of nearly 1,500 young men. Our current be- loved Shelter at 1306 W. University Avenue has been an integral part of the Delt experience since 1963. ose of us who enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of Delta Tau Delta will forever owe a debt of gratitude to the fraternity for that unique experience. For the past four years, a group of alumni and undergraduates has been working diligently to develop long-term plans that will address the housing needs for our fraternity. e alumni leadership knows that to be a premier fraternity at Oklahoma State, maintaining a chapter house is a requirement. Our 56-year-old Shelter has been a home for generations of young men, and we must make a major investment in our facility to remain competitive with other fraternities in Stillwater. e planning committee has developed plans that will meet the needs of not only today's students but future Delts as well. Our vision is a project that will address the safety, security, academic tech- nology, health, and leadership needs of the next generation of Delt broth- ers. Early commitments from dedicated Delt alumni and active members total more than $3,895,000 for the construction of a new Shelter, which will begin in May 2020 and open in time for the fall semester of 2021. With this strong early support, we are thrilled to kick off a major capital campaign to secure the future of Delta Tau Delta at Oklahoma State. Alumni who came before us provided the tradition that each of us helped build upon. We were given this opportunity to join Delt and be a part of a special brotherhood and tradition. is our chance to repay what Delt provided us. ose of us who enjoyed the brotherhood, camaraderie, and support of our fraternity will forever owe a debt of gratitude for that unique experience. Now is the time to join the 68 brothers who have already made a commitment and provided the doorway to opportunity for a new gener- ation of Delta Tau Delta men. We now seek additional support from loyal brothers to reach our $5.5 million fundraising goal. In the coming weeks you will receive more information detailing the proj- ect and the ways in which you can assist in our efforts. We hope you will join the growing list of loyal supporters who have already committed to this project and help us ensure the Delta Tau Delta experience at Oklahoma State.
