Group campsites at East Park Reservoir WILLOWS ��� The Bureau of Reclamation announces the addition of two new group campsites for the 2013 summer season, located on the Ladoga side of East Park Reservoir. Coyote Cove and Hole in the Wall group campsites will join Chisolm Cove as pay campsites. The Ladoga side of East Park Reservoir is located on Sites Ladoga Road, about 20 miles west of Maxwell. East Park Reservoir offers many excellent recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking, camping, wildlife viewing, boating and water sports. The group campsites offer fire pits, waterfront campsites, available parking, private bathrooms, trash services, picnic tables and privacy from other campers. The reservoir attracts a wide variety of bird species including bald eagles, golden eagles, tricolored black birds, California quails and numerous varieties of migratory waterfowl. The popular area also attracts Tule Elk, black-tailed deer, wild boars, coyote, bobcat and mountain lion. Fisherman can expect to catch channel catfish, largemouth bass, spotted bass, smallmouth bass, carp, bluegill and crappie. The camping season for the East Park group campsites will be open May 14 through Sept. 15, weather permitting. Reservations for these campsites are now being accepted and may be made through www.recreation.gov. For additional park information, please contact the rangers��� office at 530 968-5267. Free household hazardous waste collection The Tehama County/Red Bluff Landfill Management Agency is offering free Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Events on Feb. 16, March 3, 9 and 23 at the Corning Disposal and Recycling Facility on Highway 99 West, and Feb. 23, March 2 and March 16 at the Tehama County/Red Bluff Landfill on Plymire Road. These events are open to residents of Tehama County from 8 a.m. to noon. Please note, small businesses and government agencies must call 528-1103 in advance to schedule an appointment, small fees will apply. There are many different types of Household Hazardous Waste that need to be disposed of properly. These include: Transmission fluid (grease), Pesticides, Fertilizers, Oil-Based Paints, Stains, Solvents, Pool & Spa Chemicals, Detergents, Disinfectants, Acids, Bases, (Drain Cleaner, Tub & Tile Cleaner, Etching Products), Old Gasoline, Kerosene, Lead-Based Paint, Creosote, Tar, Aerosol Cans, and Propane Cylinders (small/camp- ing only). Please limit the amount of Household Hazardous Waste to 50 pounds or 5 gallons/load and keep the products in their original containers.
