Alumnae leadership and readiness This section of the feasibility study analyzes the chapter's alumnae leadership readiness, including incorporation status and diversity of era representation within the alumnae leadership. Minnesota Alpha House Corporation Board is properly incorporated in the state of Minnesota according to the Minnesota Department of State. The board consists of six members: four from the 1980s, one from the 2000s, and one initiate of Missouri Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Board members as of November 2018 include: Anna Haag Sabiston '02, president, Jill Ingvalson Fischer '86, vice president, Hollie List Yeager '84, treasurer, Marcie Johnson '82, personnel manager, Claire Bartholomew, Missouri Beta '12, vice president of communications, and Margy Hunt Herbert '83, long range planning chair. In any significant fundraising effort, it is important the entire alumnae constituency feels well represented and connected to the leadership, as confidence in and connection to the board will translate to trust in the decisions the building committee makes. Pennington & Company recommends the alumnae leadership continue to strategically recruit volunteers with wide era representation for the house corporation board specifically from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1990s. Alumnae should be approached in person about serving in a specific capacity, and the job description should include the expected obligation and a clear time commitment. The alumna should be provided with an explanation of the value she will bring to the board as it pertains to her individual experience and background. The alumnae leaders, specifically the house corporation and advisory board members, will be approached first in a campaign and asked to make a financial commitment to the fundraising effort, setting the tone for the remaining constituency. There is a sense of confidence created when those who are most closely involved with their chapter make a financial contribution and demonstrate full support for a campaign.
