Fundraising history and readiness This section of the feasibility study analyzes the chapter's fundraising history and readiness. The most recent campaign to support the Minnesota Alpha Chapter house was conducted in 2010. Under the leadership of Mary Cooke Mulier '59 and the support of alumnae volunteers, nearly $120,000 was raised toward a $300,000 campaign goal. Those funds were raised to support annex renovations and redecorating. According to Mulier, large, stretch gifts and multi-year pledges were not solicited during the campaign effort. Previous financial support for the chapter in the past decade is a strong indicator alumnae are willing to support updates to the chapter facility and may be willing to make stretch commitments to a future campaign. Pi Beta Phi Foundation information was obtained through the Foundation's website (www.pibetaphifoundation.org). Two Minnesota Alpha alumnae were reported as members of the Evelyn Peters Kyle Society, a giving level recognizing those who donated $1,000–$2,499 in the 2016-2017 fiscal year. In addition, one alumna was recognized as a member of the Carnation Society ($500–$999), four alumnae were recognized as members of the Trustee Society ($250–$499), and 28 alumnae were recognized as Friends ($1–$249). The Minnesota Alpha Chapter belongs to the Symphony Society of the Pi Beta Phi Foundation, recognizing its lifetime giving of $50,000–$99,999. The commitment to the national organization speaks to the loyalty and support Minnesota Alpha alumnae feel toward Pi Beta Phi and is a good indicator they may give back to their local chapter when asked. Several alumnae also mentioned their support of the University of Minnesota. They referenced serving on university alumni boards and having athletic season tickets. This is also a positive indicator alumnae may give back Minnesota Alpha, which was a major component of their time at the university.
