If you're like Julie, our first tipster, she recognized a current need in an old-fashioned gadget. And she was so excited to share her find that she even sent a picture. I started making my own washing detergent after reading about it in the DebtProof Living newsletter a number of years ago. I really love NOT lugging home bottles or boxes of detergent from the store. To grate the Fels Naptha soap, I've been using a hand grater all these years. But I've always wished for an easier way. This past summer, my husband and I visited quite a few flea markets, and found an amazing grater -- one that grates a bar in two minutes. It's so easy, I just turn the crank and it grates the bar super fine. When I add the grated Fels Naptha to the borax and washing soda and shake the container, it turns into a nice powder. We paid only $15 for the grater. Arrests • Bradley Steven Adams, 41, Cottonwood was arrested for felony charges of selling marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, child cruelty resulting in possible injury or death, possession of a dirk or dagger and misdemeanors of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana Bail was $103,000. • Trae Anthony Blackbear, 19, Red Bluff was arrested for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Blackbear had a previous pending charge for the same felony and also received a misdemeanor probation violation. Bail was $55,000. • Jennifer Nicole Dudley, 30, Red Bluff was arrested for felony possession of a narcotic. Dudley had two outstanding misdemeanor charges of probation violation as well as two more for driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence. Bail was $25,000. • Jose Dejesus Graciano, 39, Red Bluff was arrested for receiving known stolen property. Bail was $15,000. • Harry Gene Holmes aka Jimmy Huges, 51, Red Bluff was arrested for possession of concentrated cannabis, planting marijuana and a parole violation. Bail was $30,000. • Samantha Ann Lonsberry also known by the last name Hendrehan, 29, Red Bluff was arrested for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Bail was $50,000. • Augustina Alexandria Martinez, 24, Red Bluff was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury not with a firearm. Bail was $30,000. • Andres Meza also known by the last name Bobadilla was arrested for felony possession of concentrate cannabis. Rodriguez-Ayala had two outstanding misdemeanor charges each of failure to appear, probation violation and driving without a license as well as infractions of failure to stop a vehicle and failure to maintain vehicle equipment. Bail was $25,000. • Steven Timothy Rowens, 29, Red Bluff was arrested for felony receiving known stolen property and misdemeanor vandalism, failure to appear and entering a dwelling. Bail was $53,000. • Kyle Vernon Smith was arrested for possession of a billyclub or blackjack. Bail was $15,000. • Drake Creek Afflerbach, 18, of Chico was arrested early Saturday following a crash at 6:43 a.m. on Newville Road, east of the Tehama/Glenn county line. Afflerbach, who was uninjured, was driving west on Newville road when due to his level of intoxication he drifted off the north road edge, into the canal. Afflerbach was able to drive away from the canal and was going west on Newville when his 1982 pickup became disabled east of Black Butte Lake in the westbound lane. Afflerbach passed out behind the wheel with the pickup in middle of the westbound lane where he remained until he was discovered by the reporting party. He was booked into Tehama County Jail on the charge of DUI: under 21 and hit and run: property damage. Harry Gene Holmes, 51, James William Wesley, 35, and Lincoln Clyde Daniel, 54, all of Red Bluff were booked into Tehama County Jail. Holmes, also known as Jimmy Huges, was booked on the charges of possession of concentrated cannabis, planting marijuana and parole violation. Bail was $30,000. Wesley, also known as James Larson and Sunshine, and Daniel were booked on the charges of possession of concentrated cannabis and planting marijuana. Bail was $30,000 each. Theft • A resident on the 24000 block of Oklahoma Avenue reported sometime stole about 150 gallons of diesel fuel and caused about $600 in damage to an irrigation pump by removing the parts. On the same block a woman reported four aluminum Honda wheels were removed from her yard. She also located an air compressor behind a tree. Her estimated loss was $800. • About $800 in items were taken from a shed that had blown over on the 22000 block of Rice Creek Lane. • A bicycle was stolen from someone at Red Bluff Meadows Apartments. Vandalism •A 60-year-old woman reported her Jeep Liberty was vandalized at Nu Way Market Monday. The damage was estimated at $300. • An 88-year-old man reported an adult with four children were cutting down scrub oak trees on his property Monday on the 16000 block of Hickman Lane. • A 29-year-old man reported someone had broken out a window on his vehicle with a rock sometime Thursday night. The damage was estimated at $200. • Graffiti was reported on the Masonic Hall on Main Street Monday. • A cafeteria window was broken at Metteer School. • Someone reported Friday in the 24000 block of Oklahoma Avenue that parts had been removed from an irrigation pump and left behind and that 150 gallons of diesel fuel had been stolen, damage $600. • Someone on Second Avenue in the Los Molinos area reported a burglary to his residence between Friday and Sunday. Suspects pried open two locked exterior doors, damage $400, and ransacked the place, however, nothing was missing. Crash • A Red Bluff man and his wife were injured in a crash at 11:43 p.m. Saturday on southbound Interstate 5, north of Hooker Creek Road. George Avila, 37, was driving his 2005 Chevy Tahoe south at an unknown speed when for unknown reasons he allowed the Tahoe to drift into the center median where it became airborne as it cleared the drainage ditch. The Tahoe hit the raised dirt embankment, overturning, causing Avila and his wife, Deserie Bao, 32, to become trapped in the vehicle. The vehicle had major damage. Avila was arrested on the felony charge of DUI: Blood Alcohol Content over 0.08 percent and released to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment of major injuries. Bao was taken to Mercy for minor injuries.
