C reating and maintaining a home for over 400 unique and active members requires support and assistance from a variety of groups. First and foremost, the Chapter has excellent leadership and so many energetic and talented members. We are fortunate to have incredible Chapter and recruitment advisors, an awesome group on the House Corporation, countless alumnae volunteers and generous donors, insightful and supportive National Executive Officers, and the absolute best staff! Whenever I visit the Tri Delta House, I am struck by the level of activity and the number of members utilizing every room. It is a wonderful problem to have that the members—not just the residents—are spending time in and enjoying the house. However, the volume of traffic creates a lot of wear and tear. Consequently, this summer we completed a number of projects that were maintenance in nature, including reupholstering various pieces of furniture, purchasing additional outdoor furniture, replacing several rugs, and updating the security system. Because of your continued and generous support, we are able to maintain our lovely house and complete numerous and necessary projects every summer. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many talented alumnae, one of whom is Sally Waldrup Boyd '87, who is represented in several galleries in the Southeast. Sally generously donated one of her fabulous paintings for the living room. Sally's painting joins works by several other talented Delta Mu alumnae, including Dale Wilson Kennington '55, Pier Peterson Hardin '72, Buffy Drennen Hargett '75, and sisters Jessie Whelan Drennen '80 and Sue Whelan Martin '80. Due to the increasing complexities of running a large sorority house, the national offices of Tri Delta provide invaluable assistance in a multitude of ways. One particular facet is the Tri Delta Foundation, which assists members by raising and awarding funds to provide undergraduate and graduate scholarships, help members in dire financial need, and support the Fraternity's innovative educational programs. Over the course of the last several years, the Chapter has funded several academic scholarships for undergraduate members of Delta Mu through the Tri Delta Foundation. These scholarships are awarded annually to active members that have demonstrated excellence in their academic pursuits. The 2018-19 recipients are: • Patricia Calkins '15 • Claudia Hogan '15 • Kendall Hudgins '16 • Rachel Naumann '16 • Camille Studebaker '15 In addition, two annual scholarships are given to Delta Mu alumnae who are pursuing graduate degrees. This scholarship fund was created by the generous contributions of the Harriet Erich '31 family. The 2018-19 Tri Delta Foundation Harriet Erich Graduate Fellowship Scholarship recipients are: • Holly Adams '13, University of Alabama Master's Program in Speech Pathology • Maxine Walters '15, Georgetown University School of Law As you can see, we receive support and assistance in a variety of forms, and I would like to thank each of you. Please come visit the DDD House this fall; it is a fantastic home for an incredible group!
