During this fun "Beach Science" enrichment the students get to explore the sands from different beaches around the world. Each student in Judy Spencer's REACH classroom (Recognizing Employment Academic and Character Honors) at Salisbury High School in Red Bluff recently received a copy of a MacMillan fully illustrated Dictionary for Children, courtesy of the Rotary Club of Red Bluff. RBHS Teachers Teaching Teachers By JODY BROWNFIELD Special to the DN Throughout the fall semester, Red Bluff Joint Union High School District provided outstanding professional development to all staff. Red Bluff High School teachers facilitated Professional Development Monday (PSM) afternoons to their fellow educators by demonstrating techniques, best practices, methods and strategies that have been proven to work in their classrooms. Red Bluff High School recognizes that every classroom teacher can be an expert, and is focusing on building professional learning communities with our own teachers taking an active role in leading workshops. Teachers teaching Teachers has fostered collegiality, collaborative team building, and school pride. Topics covered in the Fall PDMs included Common Core Standards, Literacy, Accommodations for Students with Disabilities, Teaching Strategies for English Language Learners and Teachers‚ Best Practices for Student Success. Red Bluff High School‚s professional learning communities are centered on the commitment that every student will succeed. Every student succeeding is raising expectations that all students can learn with rigorous and relevant instruction. Our goal is to instill in our students a hunger Albertson Training Center for education that will assure they become lifelong learners. Knowledge is powerful, and how they integrate it into their lives is of the greatest importance to their success and the success of our country. We want every student prepared to a standard of readiness for postsecondary education and training. Our focus includes providing all students with daily bell-tobell instruction, with every classroom minute being purposeful. We want our students to graduate who are confident in their abilities, empowered to take on the challenges of their goals, and ready to become active members and leaders of our community. Early in the fall, staff developed a foundation for education with a new mission and vision for Red Bluff High School. The entire staff provided input to their Mission and Vision that states: Red Bluff Union High School Vision Statement Graduates from Red Bluff High School will be well prepared for college, career, and life.
