I n the four months since announcing the Building Our Fu- ture, Securing Our Legacy campaign, we've seen great growth in participation and signed commitments. We are very pleased with the response we have received from loyal alumni, not only from a monetary standpoint but also with your desire to reconnect with an organization that is still im- portant to you. Since May, our total raised is up to $1,187,340 from only 30 donors! Having reached $1.18 million with only a small percentage of SigEps, we believe we can reach the $2 million goal—but it will take more of us. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Florida Nu and we want every SigEp to participate in the creation of the state's first SigEp Learning Community (SigEp LC). Rally your brothers for a class gift or honor a friend through a five-year pledge to place your name on the distinguished list of donors. As we shared in June's campaign brochure mailing, the SigEp LC will serve as a meeting ground for our Florida Nu brothers and their fellow FIU students. The facility will feature space for events, meetings, study, presentations, teaching, and storage atop .65 acres at SW 108th Avenue. With FIU being predominately a commuter school, this initiative for a purpose-built learning community is the best direction for our growing Chapter. In addition to the RLC-accredited building, $500,000 of our $2 million goal is dedicated to an endowment of scholarships and leadership grants. As your campaign chairmen, we are encouraged to see the response we have received so far to this very important and necessary campaign. We are excited to share updates with you in the coming months and are honored to be speaking on behalf of the Florida Nu AVC and campaign board. There are many volunteers and alumni pledging their support to Florida Nu. We are humbled at the thought of more SigEps joining the effort. Fraternally, Manuel "Manny" Becerra '86 Campaign Chairman Ruben King-Shaw Jr. '82 Honorary Chairman Tom Jelke '90 Honorary Chairman P.S. Show your support today by returning the enclosed pledge card with your gift. Pledges or one-time donations may also be made online at https://tinyurl.com/SigEpFIU. Whichever outlet you choose, we are grateful for your participation.
