Alpha Slants of BETA THETA PI A L U M N I N E W S L E T T E R S P R I N G 2 0 1 8 FOREVER ALPHA CAMPAIGN SURPASSES $3.25 MILLION $750,000 More Needed A s of today, Alpha Chapter alumni have committed an impressive $3,266,053 to the Forever Alpha campaign. More than 240 alumni have made the decision to invest in the chapter that gave us lifelong friendships and is one of our main connections to Miami University. With that said, we still have nearly $750,000 to raise. In or- der to properly fund our new house without too much debt, we need to hit our $4 million target. Closing the gap be- tween signed pledges and the remaining balance is imperative to funding construction and ensuring operating expenses at the new chapter house are competitive to other fraternities, as well as off-campus, luxury student housing. As of the end of March, the Beta house was approximately 60% complete, and we are still on schedule to finish con- struction this July with brothers moving in August 24-26. The main addition has been dried-in and work continues on win- dow replacement, drywall, plastering, and much more. Utility lines have been installed and the completion of the kitchen will happen this month. New bedroom furniture has been ordered and we are excited for its arrival. We've made such great progress in a short period of time with only 14% of alumni contributing. We must raise the balance—that's why we need your attention and action right now. In order to reach our goal, we need broad participation from our alumni. The average partici- pation in Greek fundraising campaigns is 25%, and several Miami fraternities have exceeded this benchmark. Recently our campaign achieved a major milestone when we crossed the $3 million threshold. This is a huge accom- plishment, but there is still $750,000 more that must be raised. I know that there are many causes and initiatives worthy of your support, but we're asking you to reinvest in the commitment you made to Beta upon initiation and make a gift to the campaign today. This campaign is about more than money, it's about the con- tinuation of the powerful Beta experience.
