The app has the ability to submit anonymous tips, provides the ability for citizens to complete/ view police reports, and provides the ability for the department to send citizens push notification alerts for high profile incidents or road closures. The mobile app has been designed to keep the community informed. The mobile app, named FayPD, is available for download for iPhone users on the App Store and for Android Users on Google Play. By downloading and using the mobile app, citizens will be able to: • Look up information about the Fayetteville Police Department • View department policies and procedures • View recruiting information • Read current media releases • View an event calendar, including a list of community watch meetings • View crime mapping • Submit electronic police reports for select reports • View any previously submitted report, whether it was submitted through the app or through traditional methods • Submit anonymous tips directly to the Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers organization • Receive push notifications from the department on major crime trends, prolific wanted offenders, and major road closures/crashes • And much more! There is no cost to download the FayPD app, however data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Upon downloading the app, users will be asked to grant permissions for the app to utilize their device's location. The location use is requested in order to personalize push notifications and to provide the user's current location when submitting a mobile police report. City to "Bridge the Gap" with Community Social The City of Fayetteville will "bridge the gap" with its first-ever Community Social on Thursday, March 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the E.E. Smith High School auditorium, located at 1800 Seabrook Road. The event will be unique for local government, as it will feature exciting activities for youth and give all attendees an opportunity to interact with City, County and State elected officials and local government staff. Activities will include a kickball game, poetry slam, and other family-friendly fun. Discussions with youth, focusing on issues that young people face, will be coordinated. Food will be provided to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis. Community topics will include the new baseball stadium, Civil War Museum & History Center, Parks & Recreation Bond, Prince Charles Hotel and the Murchison Road/Filter Plant Drive/Washington Drive site. City Unveils New Citizen E-Newsletter City Happenings The City of Fayetteville is unveiling a new citizen E-newsletter titled City Happenings. The E-newsletter will be launched early next week to help keep residents informed of what the City is doing to support our residents. It will be published to subscribers every two weeks on a Monday afternoon. Content will include news releases, videos produced by FayTV, a data center with links to important information on the City website (calendar, Permits, Council District Finder, Council meeting agendas, Open Data Portal, TracStat, etc.) and recent news articles relevant to the City.
