We have seen a lot of growth and achievement in the last year as both individuals and a chapter. We look forward to the rest of the school year, as well as the chapter's future. Delta Gamma Earns Top Greek Life GPA I am extremely excited to announce that this semester Delta Gamma holds not only the highest Panhellenic GPA on campus, but also the highest GPA of any Greek organization at SMU with a 3.566. Our overall GPA continues to rise year after year thanks to the incredible efforts made by our member education team and our chapter as a whole. Anchor Splash ® Raises Thousands We've been very committed to Doing Good in our community this semester through philanthropy events on campus, as well as volunteer hours that have allowed our members to help the blind and visually impaired community in Dallas firsthand. Our 2017 Anchor Splash® event raised more than $18,000, with 18 teams participating in a water volleyball tournament. We look forward to our second fall philanthropy event, DG S'mores and Outdoors, which will take place in November. Chapter Hosts Nastia Liukin Our Lectureship in Values and Ethics speaker this year was Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin, who spoke on achieving dreams and female empowerment. The lecture was enjoyed by our chapter and other members of the SMU and Dallas communities. Alpha Upsilon Represented on Panhellenic We are proud to have two of our members serving on the Panhellenic executive board this year. Anna Bender '15 serves as the Panhellenic president and Lizzy DeTrempe '15 serves as vice president of internal recruitment. We are so grateful for what each of these members has done for our Greek community as a whole. Thank You, Alumnae and Parents We are so grateful for the involvement and enthusiasm our chapter sees from our alumnae and parents. Parent's Weekend in September was a success, and we loved seeing many alumnae at our Homecoming Brunch and look forward to our Celebration of Lights alumnae event. As we start to look torward the spring semester, we cannot wait to see what new faces recruitment brings into our chapter and look forward to welcoming those new members. We are so grateful for all of the support our alumnae offer to the chapter; it is your incredible resources, opportunities, and advice that make our chapter as special as it is. Please stop by the chapter house whenever you are in the area. Our collegians would love to meet you, show you around, and hear about your Delta Gamma experience. We are a chapter filled with pride and confidence and are committed to carrying on the legacy of this chapter. ITB, Alex Klaassen '15 Chapter President Our 2017 Lectureship speaker, Nastia Liukin, and Delta Gamma National President Staci Rudge Skoog, Beta Zeta '81, with the entire chapter.
