Maxwell Alumnae and Friends Give More Than $152,750 to the Beta Chi Campaign Help Us Reach Our Goal by Making a Gift Today F or more than 105 years, the rich traditions of Kappa Kappa Gamma have made a significant impact on the lives of Beta Chi women at the University of Kentucky. Many of our most special college memories involve our Beta Chi sisters. Kappa's values and rich history have sustained generations of our sisterhood and impacted the members of the university community. It was through these memories that a very important project was born—Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future: The New 238 E. Maxwell. It has been an exciting past few months witnessing our project draw closer to our $400,000 goal, and we hope that you feel connected to this special time in Beta Chi's history. INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE Our home at 238 E. Maxwell has provided a safe and nurturing environment for our sisters to grow and learn for nearly 60 years, but member class sizes have dramat- ically changed since many of us were undergraduates. We are happy to share that more than 30% of undergraduate women at UK belong to a sorority, resulting in new member class sizes that will soon be above 100 sisters. However, it has also become clear that our home can no longer meet the needs of our active members. Our investment in Beta Chi will yield a facility that complements our ef- forts to produce outstanding members, scholars, and leaders for years to come. Our goal is to create a facility that will allow all of our sisters to learn and grow in a comfortable, safe living environment and to maintain a competitive edge in the UK Greek community. The ability to recruit and retain the best young women requires that our facility be among the best with respect to modernization, educational programming, computer/Inter- net access, and safety. THE COMMITMENT OF OUR SISTERS As we embark on this journey for a new home, thank you to all of the sis- ters who have provided early financial gifts to bring these plans to reality. To date, 21 sisters have looked into their hearts, reached into their wallets, and donated $152,750 to the campaign for Beta Chi. Behind each gift: a memory, a reason, and a purpose for contributing. Some give back to ensure the future success of Kappa Kappa Gamma and oth- ers to commemorate the lifelong friendships formed there. Whether you're from the pledge class of 1946 or 2016, we need your help to raise the remaining $247,250. YOUR PART IN THE PLAN Now is the time to come together as a sisterhood and make a historic difference. No matter the amount you choose to give, your contributions are appreciated. Remember our campaign is unique in that gifts to the campaign are 100% tax deductible through the Kappa Kappa Gama Foundation and designated for Beta Chi Chapter. We also accept five-year pledges, providing you with the opportunity to maximize your giving potential. Beta Chi is a sisterhood full of strong women, including Ashley Ciminella Judd '87, Sarah Gibson Blanding '20, and Bev Moore Perdue '67, who have left a legacy of excellence for future women to follow. We hope you will join us as we show that we are truly committed to lives of excellence at Kappa Kappa Gamma. Together we can accomplish great things.
