Maxwell Strong Foundations Create Strong Bonds Mary Ann Dailey Poole '67 Thankful for Chapter House and Friendships M ary Ann Dailey Poole '67 chose to give to the capital campaign because she believes Beta Chi impacted her college experience in a positive and meaningful way. The chapter provided her with not only a home in the great big university world, but also lifetime, sisterly bonds. While thinking of her dear Kappa friends and all of their experiences both then and now, she realizes lending her support through a donation contributes to providing the same experience for future generations. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, the friendships Mary Ann developed from Beta Chi's distinguished members allowed her to remain connected with Kappa Kappa Gamma over the years. Recently, she was able to reconnect at Beta Chi's 100th anniversary and reminisced about sitting in the chapter house's front hall to talk, laugh, play practical jokes, and bond. When Mary Ann thinks about her Kappa experience she considers it as valuable as her education, and she believes that the renovations to the chapter house will provide opportunities for future sisters to create similar cherished memories. When Mary Ann was asked to contribute to the campaign she thought of the pride she has for Beta Chi's chapter house because it possesses a unique character indicative of the sisterhood's high-caliber membership. After seeing the plans for the renovations, she was confident that this type of membership will be further reflected with the updates. Mary Ann encourages fellow alumnae to reflect on their own individual experiences and the impact Beta Chi had on those respective experiences. She also encourages her undergraduate sisters to enjoy their time and friendships because many will last a lifetime. To this day, Mary Ann is honored and proud to be a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma because of her lasting bonds within a chapter that continually strives toward excellence. Mary Ann lives with her husband, Greg, in Raleigh, North Carolina, where they frequently hike, garden, golf, and visit with their children and grandchildren. She can be reached at mapoole@me.com.
