Youth Livestock Division General Rules of Fair apply. Stalls will be pre-assigned by show committee. Steers will be weighed, mouthed, and checked Friday at 9:30 a.m. NO animals in stalls until checked in with department superintendent. Missouri health regulations can be found at mcmofair.com. All Missouri health regulations will be followed. Entry deadline was July 1. All late entries will be charged a $5 late penalty fee. Livestock must be in place by 6 p.m. on Thursday and will not be released until immediately following the premium sale or 10 p.m., whichever is latest. If livestock or tack is removed before this time, all trophies, ribbons, and premiums will be forfeited. All exhibitors must keep hold of halter while showing in the ring. Exhibitors of male animals will be responsible for restraint and safe precautions of their animals. Exhibitors must be able to prove ownership of animal for a minimum of 60 days prior to the Fair by cancelled check, registration papers, notarized statement, and/or bill of sale. Bucket calves less than 60 days old still need to be able to prove ownership. All animals exhibited must have proof of age either by registration papers or have a signed statement from the breeder. Animals showing in a breed class must have registration papers in exhibitor's name or have a signed statement from the breeder stating the animal's age and that the animal is a purebred animal, or they will be shown in cross or other class. Trophies will not be given unless at least three (3) animals are exhibited in a particular breed. Unethical fitting will be deemed to consist of any method altering the natural conformation of any part of the animal's body. Any attempts to change the degree of firmness of an individual animal will also be deemed unethical. Stalls must be cleaned before premium checks are released. Steer weights must be turned in to Beef Superintendent. A 4 percent tolerance will be allowed to steer exhibitors. All clipping blocking chutes must stay in the designated area on the east end of the livestock barn. This will be enforced. Class premiums will be paid only on classes listed in the book. Regardless of the number of entries in a class, livestock exhibitors will be paid for no more than two placings per class. Money for placings will be distributed by the department superintendents during release time. Exhibitors participating in the Premium Sale must present their animal by themself at the Premium Sale. All exhibitors exhibiting swine, sheep, goats, beef, dairy, bucket calf, little flock, and/or horses must be five years of age or older by July 1, 2017, to exhibit the above referenced at the fair, unless otherwise provided for herein. All livestock trailers must park in designated areas. No parking will be allowed on the South side of the fair building. Any livestock trailer parked in a non-designated area will be towed at the owner's expense. Eligible Participants Only livestock exhibitors of the McDonald County Fair will be allowed to show/exhibit an animal in any livestock show or showmanship contest at the McDonald County Fair. Any livestock exhibitors with multiple animals in any given class must have another McDonald County Fair livestock exhibitor show/exhibit his or her animal(s) in the arena. Any livestock exhibitor that allows a person, that is not a McDonald County Fair livestock exhibitor, show/exhibit his or her animal in any livestock show or showmanship contest will forfeit all trophies, ribbons, and premiums, including any premium sale premiums and/ or add-ons.
