The exhibit displays letters sent from deployed service members engaged in conflicts from World War I to Afghanistan to their families. This wartime memorabilia aims to show the evolution of communication trends and it's similarities in content. Geography, weaponry and adversaries transform with changing conflicts, but social ideals, coping mechanisms and the art of communication are constant. The exhibit also recognizes the contributions of military units not typically acknowledged and includes patches, colors and personal effects provided by present service members and veterans in the community.
