The tournament format is a 2 person team scramble who play their opponents for a point each day. Teams make up their own foursome and it has become a fun tourney. Of the 13 matches, 3/4th of them were decided by only one or two strokes each day. The fi rst day of play was Wednesday, March 1, at Rainbow Acres. The following individuals had holes- in-one: Brad Romaine (2), Jerry Taylor (2), Tom Chop- ski, Dino Linden, Con Smith, Bill Buchan, Debi Jensen, David Hopkins, Larry Jensen, Dean Harrington, Bud Key, and Lee Raye Christner. Prizes were awarded to the following: Lee Raye Christner (Hole in One #1, ), Brad Romaine (Closest to Pin #8), Dino Linden (Clos- est to Pin #9), Jess Lunan (Long Drive for Ladies), Brad Romaine (Long Drive Men 75+), Don Clarke and Rick Johnston (Long Drive Men). The best team score of the day was fi red by Dean Harrington & Jerry Tay- lor and Cletus Winkler & Jerry Taylor who tied with 36. Russ Leininger and Harvey Gibson had the 2nd low score of 37. Two teams had 38- Bud Key & Dean Harrington and Brad Romaine & Pete Lilly. The second day of play was Thursday, March 2, at the Quartzsite Town Course. The following individuals had holes-in-one: Russ Leininger (3), Jimmy Bywater (2), Robert Dickson (2), Jerry Taylor (2), Geneo Bisceglia, Mike Stegeman, Brad Romaine, David Hopkins, Lee Raye Christner, Debi Jensen, Larry Jensen, Gene Swal- low, Tom Chopski, Bob Cutler. Prizes were awarded to the following: Lee Raye Christner (Hole in One #1), Mac McLean (Closest to the Pin), Lee Raye Christner (Clos- est to Pin #9), Jess Lunan (Long Drive Ladies), Harvey Gibson (Long Drive Men 75+), Don Clarke (Long Drive Men). The best team score of the day was from Russ Le- ininger & Harvey Gibson with a 33 and Cletus Winkler & Jerry Taylor shot 34. Don Clarke and Bud Coenen fi red the next best score of 36 while Brad Romaine & Pete Lilly and Rick Johnston & Earl Gunselman and David Hopkins and Larry Jensen had 38. At the end of the tournament, the Good Guys/Gals outscored the Bad Guys/Gals by a score of 14 ½ to 11 ½. Below is the scoreboard of results: The tournament was capped off with a fantastic BBQ and potluck at the home of Kit and Kathy Wilkins. Bill Toner did a great job with the burgers and side dishes and desserts were enjoyed by 50-some guests. Kathy Wilkins and Dorothy Toner were busy with setup and shopping. Linda Taylor presented results and awards to the participants. Jerry Taylor and Kit Wilkins were the tournament directors. A fun auction took place for a picture and frame donated by Bud Key and Harvey Gibson. We look forward to seeing you all again next season!
