The county is conducting a revaluation. The 2017 Notice of Value will be mailed in January and may not reflect adjustments for properties that suffered loss or damage as a result of Hurricane Matthew. The county was too far along in the revaluation process to adjust the timeline because of the storm. Property loss and damage as a result of Hurricane Matthew will be taken into account during the appeal period, and a second notice will be mailed to owners that will reflect property damage not repaired by Jan. 1. If property is not fully repaired by Jan. 1, property owners should contact the Tax Office at 910-678-7507. Because damage caused by the hurricane occurred after Jan. 1, 2016, no adjustment can be made to 2016 real property tax bills, per N.C. General Statute. Schedules of Values There will be a public hearing on the Schedules, Standards and Rules to be used in the 2017 revaluation on Nov. 21 at 6:45 p.m. in Room 118 of the Courthouse. A copy of the manual, generally referred to as the Schedule of Values, is available online at co.cumberland.nc.us/tax/revaluation.aspx and in the Tax Administrator's office, Room 570, in the Courthouse at 117 Dick Street. County Offices, Courts Closed Nov. 24-25 Cumberland County Government offices and the court system will be closed Nov. 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
