Most of Cleveland and Rutherford Counties are doing very well in the rain department this month. Some places are over 7" and 5" is widespread, with much more to come by Friday and this weekend. A new front will stall in the Southeast this weekend and once again, a cloudy, slightly cooler weekend is on tap, with numerous showers and storms. Before the front cools us down, there will be some severe weather on Friday afternoon, so be careful outdoors if a storm comes up suddenly as these storms have had a lot of lightning lately. The winds will turn north- easterly Saturday and allow a brief break from the baking hot winds we seem to have a lot of lately, so it will be a chance to enjoy a nice temporary break from the heat. The Plains continue to experience one of the hottest Summers since the Dust Bowl days of the 1930's with no end in sight to their strong heat wave and drought.
