Nature was Jean's passion. Her love for birds resulted in Jean finding a cabin retreat above Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, participating in a bird census in China, and taking daily trips to Rapp Park. Her thirst for knowledge led her on many travels and adventures, and the lessons learned were passed on to her family and friends. shirley skelley becker '50 entered Chapter Eternal on March 8. She was a gregarious, fun-loving people-person who enjoyed promoting her community through her work, hobbies, and volunteerism. Her career path began as a Younkers Tea Room model. While raising her family, she incorporated her passion for traveling by becoming a tour director for ITA. Shirley was a past member of several community organizations, including P.E.O. and Junior League. She always enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, entertaining, tennis, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
