THE TAXI NEWS PAGE 4 O ver the past few months, the Alpha Sigma Chapter has been making significant strides toward meeting our goal to rejuvenate our position here on Bradley's campus. Through the dedicated work of our undergraduate members and the support of Ian Pellerin, Kappa Tau '11, Theta Xi's director of fraternity growth, we have thus far welcomed eight associate members into our chapter. These men are already showing great promise in terms of leadership and academic success and will be a pivotal asset in reaching our goal of initiating 12 new men by the end of the fall semester. Academic Achievements Academically, our chapter GPA reached a seven- year high last semester at 3.13, ranking us fifth amongst fraternities on campus. To ensure the continued academic success of the chapter, all associate members will take part in a new program that will give our scholarship chairman, Chris Leonard '18, a list of important due dates to keep the men accountable. Philanthropic Endeavors We plan to host multiple, smaller philanthropic events on campus throughout October to increase our awareness and name recognition. Philanthropy Chairman Clay Darrow '18 is preparing for a walking taco event, which will pit other campus organizations against each other to see who buys the most food. Brothers Attend Convention The 152nd Theta Xi National Convention was held this August in Minneapolis, Minn. Trent Hootman '17 and I represented the undergraduate chapter and voted on multiple issues, including a fee restructuring for national dues. It was also a great opportunity to meet Theta Xi men from across the country. Brotherhood Gains Strength in Numbers We are looking forward to reaching our recruitment goal this semester and keeping that momentum going for another eight men in the spring of 2017. Thank you to our generous alumni who continue to support us and provide us with wonderful leadership opportunities—we encourage you to stop by the chapter house if you are ever in the area to meet the young men who are following in your footsteps. Yours in the Bonds, Max Rydell '17 Chapter President pr.thetaxi@gmail.com (224) 535-1868
