eri Chadwick, University of Florida '16 joined the Gamma Phi Beta sisterhood as the most recent alumnae initiate for the Eta Xi Chapter this summer at the Gamma Phi Beta International Convention. She is also the new scholarship advisor for the Alpha Delta Chapter and is excited to meet more wonderful women of Gamma Phi Beta. Teri attended the University of Florida where she earned a bachelor's degree in magazine journalism. She then went on to earn a master's degree in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Teri has worked in nonprofit fundraising and marketing since 1993. She is on the leadership team for Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society, where she is the director of advancement and is responsible for all corporate sponsorships and fundraising. Teri joined Gamma Phi Beta because she wanted to volunteer with collegians. "I have gotten to know a few Alpha Deltas in the St. Louis alumnae chapter and they're just wonderful," Teri said. She spent six years professionally leading the Pi Beta Phi Foundation as executive director. "I've seen firsthand the difference sisterhood can make in women's lives, both collegiate and alumnae," she said. "One of the most remarkable women I met was celebrating her 75th year in her sorority," she said. "She had not been active until she retired to Florida and found a whole close circle of her friends in her local alumnae organization and began volunteering for a nearby collegiate chapter." Teri said meeting this woman reminded her that it is never too late to reconnect with your sisters—even those you haven't met yet. Teri reassures alumnae who have lost touch with the chapter to reach out and get involved. "In many ways, the pressures on young women have never been greater, so the difference that a great sorority experience can have has never been greater," Teri said. "Whether you make a gift, volunteer, or even write recommendations for potential new members, there's always a chance to make a difference in what the young women of Alpha Delta experience in their four years in the chapter." Teri and her husband, Ken, live in the St. Louis area, where Ken teaches middle school social studies. The couple has two sons who both served in the military, two daughters, and a total of seven grandchildren. Teri is a voracious reader and enjoys the Gamma Phi Beta book club in the St. Louis alumnae chapter. She and Ken love hiking in Colorado. You can reach her at alphadeltascholarshipadvisor@gmail.com. 2 alPha Delta hilites hen Julie Weir Cameron '87 stepped onto Mizzou's campus as a 17 year old, she didn't know the impact the next four years would have on her. Julie's fond memories go back to before she was even an Alpha Delta. "Still to this day I remember athena paspalas tuttle '85 rushing me at each party I attended at Gamma Phi, and I loved her!" Julie said. Julie was treasurer for Alpha Delta and several years later she finds herself still dealing with finances for Alpha Delta on the Affiliated House Corporation, where she is in charge of fundraising efforts. She earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Mizzou and spent a lengthy career in the technology sector working on mergers, acquisitions, and business development. She is now retired. Being in Gamma Phi Beta not only helped shape her career path, but also taught her how to live and work with people of many different personalities, backgrounds, and goals. Living in the chapter house left Julie with many memories that include mystery dates, Greek Week with the ΣΑΕs, pomping, the goat song, finally living in the annex, the haunted room, and many more. Julie visits campus and the chapter house every year and notes how different the campus looks, while "808 Richmond is just as I remember! It is a house filled with love and compassion, regardless of how long it has been," she said. Julie encourages alumnae who have lost touch with Alpha Delta "to remember that love and compassion and know that it is still there just as it was years ago." Julie and her husband, Bruce, live in Dallas, Texas, with their daughter, Lily, who is a junior in high school. Julie enjoys playing tennis and golf, reading, and traveling. She is an active volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), serves on the Board of the United States Tennis Association-Texas Section, and volunteers for the Trulaske School of Business at the University of Missouri.
