The patient requested Hospice Social Worker, Emily Crocker-Underwood, to aid him in obtaining the ribbons and medals. Emily worked diligently also enlisting the help of Congressman Patrick McHenry's of- fi ce. Her persistence paid off and the fi nal metal is currently in the mail and on its way! During McKenzie's' time in serve, he served in Vietnam and was awarded the Combat Action ribbon (Vietnam), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 3 bronze campaign stars, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color w/ palm and frame), Republic of Viet- nam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Action Color w/ palm and frame), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Rifl e Marks- man Badge.
