Indiana Gamma Members Lead by Example Chapter FoCused on Building our suCCess T he Indiana Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon finished off the spring semester with positive and continuous growth through an increase in membership, a second-place finish in the annual Little 500 race, and several new philanthropic initiatives. Having served as eminent archon for one full semester now, I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of these young men and have nothing but the highest expectations for the future of this Chapter. With our strong involvement on campus and academic presence, Indiana Gamma is establishing a firm foundation for a bright future at Indiana University. Continued aCademiC exCellenCe Indiana Gamma maintained another semester of academic excellence last fall with an average GPA of a 3.29, ranking us fifth among fraternities. While this is a slight decrease in performance compared to recent semesters, the Chapter has a comprehensive and progressive scholarship program in place to partner brothers with peer tutors within the Chapter, as well as provide opportunities for external tutoring around campus. I am excited to see the benefits our members will reap from this program. new philanthropiC initiatives This past year, we made great strides regarding our philanthropic initiatives. In the fall, we raised $2,500 for Children's Miracle Network through ΣAE Knockaround, which was a bubble soccer tournament. The Chapter's Indiana University Dance Marathon team raised more than $25,000 for Riley Hospital for Children. This past spring, the Chapter collected $5,000 with the generous support of alumni for Habitat for Humanity to build a home in the local Bloomington community. Brothers had the opportunity to assist in the building of the home as well. Additionally, we hosted a food drive with Kappa Alpha Theta, raising 200 cans of food for the Hoosier Hills food bank, as well as a blood drive with Kappa Delta for American Red Cross. indiana gamma estaBlishes goals For Fall 2016 As a Chapter that is never satisfied, Indiana Gamma has several goals for the upcoming semester. Our campus involvement has been strong with three semi-finalist teams in intramural football, basketball, and volleyball; membership in the consulting, investment banking, investment management, and global sales workshops; and representation on Union Board, Student Athletic Board, and Steering Committee. We want to maintain this level of involvement and grow to reach other areas of campus where we do not have representation. Furthermore, we are looking to grow in membership with housing capacity expanding to 80 live-in brothers next fall, and the recruitment committee is planning to recruit another strong, diverse fall class of 30 to 35 young men. alumni support Key to the Future oF our Chapter Other Indiana Gamma initiatives include the development of a young alumni professional The Indiana Gram Indiana Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon • Indiana University Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Dance Marathon team.
