Delta Tau Delta Association of Muncie P.O. Box 6261 Fishers, IN 46038-6261 Address Service Requested THE IRIS Attention: This newsletter is intended for alumni and parents. If your son is still attending Ball State University, he will receive a copy at the chapter house. If he has graduated, please send us his permanent address to update our records. Thank you. Delta Tau Delta Continues Legacy of Success at Ball State T he men of Epsilon Mu have engaged in a wide variety of philanthropic and community service events, recruited a 15-man pledge class (which brings the chapter to 82 men), and achieved a GPA above the Ball State average, putting the chapter in fifth place among the IFC community this past year. ACADEMIC SUCCESS Epsilon Mu has continuously increased its GPA over the past few semesters, with a current GPA of a 2.95. This is the highest it has been in the past several years. The chapter has also established a new incentive program to guarantee that members meet their academic potential and continue striving toward excellence. PHILANTHROPY EVENTS On April 9, Epsilon Mu hosted its sixth annual Army Games. This year, the chapter donated all proceeds to the Fisher House Foundation. Participation from the Greek community, as well as the non-Greek community, was outstanding. As has become an Epsilon Mu tradition, the chapter is the BSU Greek leader in successful philanthropy whether in the fall, winter, or spring. MEMBERSHIP UPDATE A couple semesters ago, the chapter implemented a recruitment program, "5-Star Recruitment." We have experienced great success with this process, and the program has fostered Epsilon Mu growth. As a result of this success, our pledges became active brothers on April 7 at the Delt headquarters in Fishers. I see many great things coming from this group of ambitious men. CHAPTER ACTIVITIES, CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT, AND INTRAMURALS Chapter activities for this semester included an etiquette dinner, an array of different social events (Delt Wedding and Deltona 500), and electing Alpha Omicron Pi as our partner for Homecoming. The chapter's spring formal at Lake Geneva was on April 2. Additionally, five members of our executive committee attended the Northern Division Conference. Every member of Epsilon Mu is required to be involved in at least two outside organizations. Examples of this involvement include Finance Society, Accounting Club, Econ Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cardinal Communications, and IFC. Members are also encouraged to seek leadership roles within their respective organizations. The Delt men continue to hold a strong presence in the intramural league. Once again, Epsilon Mu was crowned basketball and football intramural champions, and soccer, softball, and dodgeball placed high in the program. ALUMNI INVOLVEMENT This fall, the chapter hosted a gathering of alumni who came to the Shelter for a luncheon and tour. On September 17, the chapter will host the 50th anniversary celebration at the Shelter to honor its historic past 50 years and to foresee a positive and productive next 50. We look forward to your attendance. The actives continue to benefit from alumni advisors' participation. They often attend executive committee meetings, weekly chapters, rituals, and many other fraternity-related events. As an alumnus, please know you are welcome to attend our meetings and events. Or, stop by the Shelter for an informal visit. Delt alumni are the reason this fraternity continues to grow and strives for excellence. Overall, Epsilon Mu had a very successful 2015; however, there is always room for improvement, and that is exactly what the Delts plan— continued growth in all aspects of Greek life.
