Tobias '14 SUCCESS ABOUNDS AT LAMBDA CHI ALPHA Brothers Focus on Philanthropy, Academics, and Recruitment T he men of Alpha-Omicron are halfway through another incredible year at Indiana University. I am proud to report that our academic, philanthropic, and recruitment programs have all been very successful, and we are looking to the future to improve our chapter even more. GPA Ranked in the Top Ten Academically, Alpha-Omicron performed well in the fall with the chapter earning a GPA of 3.20. Our academic performance ranked us the eighth-highest GPA among the other fraternities, a position that we continually strive to improve. Success at Pumpkin Smash Our philanthropic efforts have also yielded great success this year, as Alpha-Omicron raised more than $2,600 from our Pumpkin Bash philanthropy event this past fall. I regard the event as a huge success and look forward to working with our High Theta to achieve an even higher number of donations in the coming year. For the second year, the chapter participated in Dropping the Puck, a charity hockey game that raises money for brain cancer research. This year, we faced off against the men of Delta Upsilon and were excited to raise money for such a worthy cause. Welcoming 22 New Lambda Chi Alphas Our membership continues to expand and our brothers work diligently to recruit new members into the brotherhood. We initiated 22 new brothers on January 15, bringing our total membership to 160 brothers. Spring recruitment at Indiana University began January 31, and we are excited to get to know the new class of associate members in the coming weeks ahead. Alpha-Omicron has experienced a solid year of prosperous growth and great achievements. I feel privileged to have the ability to lead such a great chapter. I sincerely want to thank all of our alumni for their continuous support and invite you to come by the chapter house anytime. Fraternally, Kyle Ewert '17 President krewert@umail.iu.edu Indiana University students had some fall-themed fun at Alpha-Omicron's Pumpkin Bash this past fall, a philanthropy that raised more than $2,600 for Feeding America.
