2 THE ORACLE room being named in his honor. "I was very humbled," Pete said. "Riding in the 1979 Little 500 was one of the highlights of my college days and the experiences preparing for that event are still memorable today." He remains an active cyclist, riding more than 1,000 miles every year. Preserving the sense of brotherhood he experienced in his undergraduate years, Pete remains close to his brothers. "I still maintain contact with Morris Kay '81, Robert Scott '83, John Edgeworth '80, and Jamie Hunter '82," Pete said. His brothers continue to make an impact on his life through their service to the chapter. "I have been amazed with the resurgence that Bob Disinger '83 has made with the alumni organization over the past five years. We owe much to Bob for his time and continued commitment to Alpha-Omicron Zeta," Pete said. Pete and his wife, Gayle, have been married for over 30 years and reside in Indianapolis, where he works as a market specialist for SIKA Sarnafil Roofing and Waterproofing. Pete and Gayle have two daughters: Colleen, who works in public relations, and Amy, who is a sophomore at DePaul University. In his free time, Pete plays the piano and enjoys photography. When asked about why it's important to stay connected as alumni, he said, "These are men who I shared some of the best times of my life with. Why stop?" You can contact Pete at baker.pete@us.sika.com. ALWAYS SERVING THE BROTHERHOOD (Continued from page 1) GearinG up for the LittLe 500 W e dedicated the new bike room at the house this past Homecoming and named it in honor of Pete Baker '79, who rode back in the late '70s. Pete is among the three Alpha- Omicrons who were named Order of Merit recipients by our International Headquarters. Thank you to all the donors who helped make this bike room a reality, and thank you to Pete for your service to Alpha-Omicron! We will be installing a permanent plaque to honor Pete and our donors later this semester. Introducing the Pete Baker Bike Room T he Little 500 team has been putting a lot of hard work in this year. We have a very athletic team this year; however, we don't have much experience after graduating our top three riders. Despite having little experience, we expect to do quite well this year, with some very competitive, talented new additions to the team. Thanks to the incredible donations this past summer to our new Pete Baker '79 bike room, we have been able to take our training to new heights. The team is extremely excited to make Alpha-Omicron proud and strive for that first Top 10 finish in over 15 years! Ride Fast, Turn Left, Blake Klenovich '16 Team Captain Pete Baker '79 and members of the Alpha-Omicron bike team in the newly constructed bike room dedicated to Pete for his hard work and devotion to the chapter over the years.
