Well, actually it's only for one night. And, in this case, the beneficiaries will not be wealthy casino own- ers but the Cleveland County Arts Council (CCAC). For the 8th consecutive year, the Arts Council Board of Directors and volunteers will host "The Big Chill: Casino Night," at the Arts Center, 111 S. Washington St., on Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 7 p.m.- 11 p.m. "We are excited to once again sponsor an evening of fun, food, silent auction and games," says Shearra Miller, CCAC president. As in years past, attendees will enjoy blackjack, craps, and roulette at Vegas-style gaming tables, Miller says. The "High Roller" Blackjack table, where the stakes will be higher and the chances of winning even greater, returns this year as well. For those who really want to live the high life, there is a VIP package, which includes an admission ticket, additional "casino money," drink tickets and a personal beverage server. Another popular game, Texas Hold'em style poker, is also on this year's agenda, with two tournaments scheduled. Participants in these games play for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses. Players must sign up in advance for the tournaments, and a $20 donation is required to participate in each tournament. Another part of the evening's activities will be a silent auction. This year some of the items available include: ͻǀĂĐĂƚŝŽŶƉĂĐŬĂŐĞǁĞĞŬŝŶDLJƌƚůĞĞĂĐŚ͕^͖ ͻŶhƉƚŽǁŶ^ŚĞůďLJƐŚŽƉƉŝŶŐƐƉƌĞĞ͖ ͻŚĂŶĚĐƌĂĨƚĞĚ͞>ŝƚƚůĞ>ĞŶĚŝŶŐ>ŝďƌĂƌLJ͖͟ ͻŬŝĚƐ͛ƉĂƌƚLJ͕ǁŚŝĐŚŝŶĐůƵĚĞƐĂŶŝŶĨůĂƚĂďůĞ ŚŽƵƐĞ͕ĐĂŬĞ͕ƉŝnjnjĂĂŶĚƉŚŽƚŽŐƌĂƉŚLJ͖ ͻWĂŶƚŚĞƌƐͬ^ƵƉĞƌŽǁůWĂĐŬĂŐĞ͕ǁŚŝĐŚŝŶĐůƵĚĞƐ a handmade Adirondack chair, beverages and snacks. Tickets for the "Big Chill: Casino Night" are $45 in advance or $50 at the door and include $50 of "casino money." The VIP package is $100.
