Notes of the Lyre P H I C H A P T E R O F A L P H A C H I O M E G A A T T H E U N I V E R S I T Y O F K A N S A S FALL 2015 I am excited to report on the progress of A Century of Sisterhood, Building for the Next 100 Years. Hopefully the excitement has rekindled your memories of KU and Phi Chapter and how it positively impacted your life. Since the start of the campaign, many alumnae have provided solid support, raising more than $230,000 so far! This campaign is significant because it is providing every future woman of Phi with a safe, secure, and spacious house of which to be proud. However, we are still short of our $500,000 goal and have many projects yet to complete. This fall, we are preparing for the fourth phase of our renovations in the chapter house, which includes updates to the chapter room, laundry room, computer room, and fifth and seventh floor bathrooms; as well as decoration throughout the house with personal touches, sorority memorabilia, and new furniture. Despite all the effort we have put in, these remaining projects will not be completed as planned without more support. Only 5% of Phi alumnae have given back to the campaign. We want this to be a collaborative effort across all generations, and we know we can improve our participation rate. The average participation for Greek campaigns is 20-25% of the alumnae base; as Phi sisters we know that we should not only be able to meet that level, but exceed it. To those who have not yet made a gift, we strongly encourage your thoughtful consideration of this project. If you have stepped up to get involved, thank you, we greatly appreciate your support. Please consider reaching out to a pledge sister who has not yet participated, and encourage her involvement. Participation is our main focus now, and gifts of all levels are much appreciated. Even if you are not in a position to make a multi-year commitment, please consider making a one-time donation. Gifts of any amount are helpful and appreciated. Use the enclosed pledge form or visit http://axophi.kintera.org/donate to send in your contribution today. I would also like to extend a big welcome to our newly elected board officers! The following women were selected in our recent election, and I'm sure they will serve the chapter fabulously! Stephanie Spratt Schmidt '93, interim president; Amiee Crawford Wenson '94, treasurer; and Amy Pettit Gnau '98, secretary. Thank you, ladies! As we look ahead and prepare for 2016, the need for alumnae support is huge, and the time is now, so please don't wait. Just as the generosity of sisters who came before us enabled our memorable Phi experience, we owe it to our future sisters to provide them the same opportunities. My sisters were kind, driven, intelligent, fun-loving women. I respected them and appreciated their friendship. I was proud of our accomplishments while I lived in the house. I am proud of our family legacy. My grandmother, my mother, my sister, and I all pledged Alpha Chi Omega. –Anonymous Donor " " Why Our Alumnae Give Back to Phi Chapter ONLINE GIVING NOW AVAILABLE Want an easier way to give?
