April 4, 2012 100 years of Wedding gowns Quartzsite, AZ- A Wedding Gown Fashion Show was held Saturday, March 24 at the Lutheran Church. Show, created by Judy Smith, was a project of the Ruth Circle, the ladies group at Covenant Lutheran. Marika Holcombe from The Alliance Church was also very instrumental in getting the whole show put together. The women modeling the 22 dresses were Maggie Ross, Jennifer Brown, Myrna Robinson, Sharon Bowen, Bev- erly Malast, Kay Mooring and Marika Holcombe. The younger ladies were Judee Aguilar, Kari Ferris, Kesia Fer- ris, Olivia Graham, Adrienna Wil- liams, Rhiyanna Timberlake, Sam- mantha Lizarraga, Portia Gresham, Cherokee Frazier, and Kirshaha Guy. Bob Braa and Gene Ross escorted the ladies. The show was followed by an old fashioned wedding reception with cake, nuts, and mints. Oldest dress was a black wedding dress from 1911. Judy Smith's grandmother made the dress. Judy told stories about the history of the dresses and made the event fun.
