The Alabama Arrow 2 A fter a summer apart, the sisters of Alabama Beta were very excited to return to Tuscaloosa and begin working toward 2015 fall formal recruitment. Our members kicked off Spirit Week by reviewing and practicing for recruitment. During this time, we spent long hours at the house, but made room for fun sisterhood activities as well. We got a special visit from Steel City Pops, had a surprise a cookie shine and rewarded ourselves with delicious Gigi's cupcakes. We used workshop week to get ready for the week to come, and we were thankful for the chance to bond as a chapter before the new school year. Alabama Betas Gain Ground in Academic Excellence Alabama Beta is proud to say we began the semester with a GPA of 3.48, which is the third highest on campus. We are extremely proud of our members who have achieved a 4.0 GPA. This is the result of continued hard work from all of our members, and we look forward to even more academic success this year. Pi Phis Celebrate the New Semester Pi Phi had an extremely successful back-to-school Boom Boom Bash and Halloween party. We've also hosted great sisterhood events, ranging from '80s skate night to projecting a movie on the house and watching it with our sisters on the front lawn. Since the beginning of the school year, we have already had several sisterhood events and game day celebrations with other Pi Phi chapters. We look forward to all of the upcoming seminars, workshops and other events we will have this year. Our philanthropy activities continue to include visits to Holt each week and engaging within the Tuscaloosa community. Our annual event, Greek Man of the Year, took place on September 29 and was a great success. Alabama Angels Help New Members Cultivate Pi Phi Core Values We are making great progress in the New Member Education Program, led by New Member Coordinator Emily Rapoza '12. Our newest angels are adjusting well to college life and are already bringing new life to our chapter. They are learning our history and values, while also getting to know each other and their big sisters more each week. We initiated these wonderful women into our sisterhood on October 18. Thank you to our alumnae, advisors and the University of Alabama for supporting our chapter each year. We hope we can continue to count on your support during next year's recruitment and as our chapter and its facilities continue to grow. We would love to extend an invitation to any alumnae or friends of the chapter to come by the Pi Beta Phi house. We would love to have you during game day or anytime. Alabama Beta is excited for a great year and to cheer on the Tide to another winning season!
