the Beta Tau blaster Delta tau Delta Fraternity at the university oF nebraska-lincoln I Fall 2015 Involvement Is the Foundation for Commitment Volunteer Your Time to Strengthen the Beta Tau Brotherhood B eta Tau continues to make significant progress this year by growing the membership and improving the facility. Improvements were made to the Shelter, an impressive group of executives lead the undergraduates, the chapter saw a successful recruitment over the summer, and additions were made to the House Corporation and Alumni Advisory Team. Alumni involvement ensures continued leadership for the Beta Tau Chapter. There are routine day-to-day activities and meetings, decisions to be made about current and future financial commitments and obligations, and resolving everything from simple questions about how things work to complex financial obligations competing for limited funds. House Corporation communications range from telephone calls or meetings with vendors, contractors, local officials, the chapter consultant, and the international office. Consider how you might become involved this year. It takes time to get in the rhythm of the board and the activities that each of us are involved in or managing. Join us on the board and contribute your perspective during our regular board meeting time. You will find that there are opportunities to contribute in significant ways. You are likely one of the 400 Beta Tau alumni in the Lincoln-Omaha metropolitan areas. If we were to increase alumni involvement to 5% in these areas, it would add an additional 20 men and would nearly double the current actively participating alumni. Join us at the fall alumni reunion or the next after work social. Stay in touch by following your chapter on Facebook and at http://nebraskadelts.com. THANK YOU, DEDICATED ALUMNI Thank you to each of you who continue to support the chapter as you fulfill financial pledges to reduce the debt on our remodeled and updated Shelter. We sincerely appreciate your support. This summer, we replaced the roof, removing the old insulation in the attic and replacing it with insulation to R50, and added a new freezer in the kitchen. Stop by and meet the 2015 executive team. They are an exciting group of young men developing as leaders today for tomorrow. I am encouraged by the support of Beta Tau leadership scholarships. This has been an important step to support undergraduates. Consider how you may honor one of the chapter's past or recent leaders. The gifts received to date are moving us toward funding these scholarships and joining those already fully funded. SAVE THE DATE Join us on Saturday, October 24 for the Northwestern game at the Shelter. Enjoy meeting some of the undergraduates, your classmates, and members of the House Corporation and chapter executives. Refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, please contact Blake Woodruff '13 at blakewoodruff@huskers.unl.edu. Please stay tuned for more information once the game time is announced. HELP LEAD BETA TAU The Alumni Advisory Team presents an opportunity for more involvement and your personal engagement. Some of the continued needs are mentors for the chapter officers and mentorship of all chapter members. Positions available are recruitment advisor, membership education advisor, risk management advisor, and road advisor. This is your opportunity to engage again in the fraternal experience with members of the board and with the undergraduates. It has brought back great memories of my years on campus and the realization of how important The Shelter received a new roof this summer. Thank you, generous alumni, for making this project possible. Your interests can lead to involvement!
