Chapter Eternal
Keith Fiene '50 entered Chapter Eternal on February 6, his 84th birthday. He met his wife-to-
be, Betty Woods, in fourth grade in Omaha. He was a football standout at Benson High School,
winning a football scholarship to Nebraska. After an injury, he enlisted in the Army and saw
action in Korea, where he earned several decorations, including the Soldier's Medal for heroism.
He returned to Nebraska in 1953, married Betty, and completed his degree. He was first employed
by Boeing in Seattle, then by Hanford in the Richland, Wash., area. Keith was an avid salmon
fisherman, birdwatcher, bowler, and bicyclist. He also promoted and coached table tennis and
wrote haiku poetry.
