the beta tau blaster Page 2 Beta Tau Chapter: www.nebraskadelts.com the fraternity is today as it was then. You can become involved. I know that you will find involvement with the fraternity will be an exciting and rewarding experience. Contact Ryan Caldwell '98 at ryandcaldwell@hotmail.com or Jim Emanuel '79 at emanueljim60@ gmail.com and see how your interests can lead to involvement. LET'S CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OUR BROTHERS I'm very proud of the achievements of the chapter: academic improvement, an outstanding recruitment program, and greater prominence on campus. Let's celebrate these accomplishments while working toward even greater success! Please think about volunteering to attend a dinner, join us for a House Corporation meeting, coordinate a luncheon, or pursue a special interest or topic with the undergraduates as a guest speaker. I look forward to seeing you soon. Fraternally, James Loach, Epsilon Omega '67 House Corporation President james_loach@nps.gov (Continued from page 1) Involvement Is the Foundation for Commitment T he alumni golf tournament was a huge success. We had 48 participants, and of those, 40 were alumni. Everyone had a great time, and all want to participate next year. A special thanks to Dean Jenkins '55 and Blake Woodruff '13 for organizing the event. Golf Tournament Attracts More Than 45 Brothers Thank you to the 40 alumni who attended the annual golf tournament. We hope to see you there next year. Matt Larson '01 Gives Back to the Shelter as Property Manager M att Larson '01 has made many memories at the Shelter. He remembers football games, parties, and spending time in the place that took care of him during his time at Nebraska. Now, Matt gets to give back to the Shelter as property manager. "I felt like I owed the chapter something," he says. "It helped me so much to get on the right path for life and career." With more than 10 years of remodeling under his belt, Matt owns his own company, Change House Design & Construction. He is the go-to guy for whenever something goes wrong–taking stress off the House Corporation and the undergraduates. "A good friend of mine on the House Corporation mentioned the position, and I was definitely interested," Matt says. "As far as I know, we've never had something like this before. I'm happy to help and it's cool to go back and see everything again." He says one of his favorite parts is finding old composite pictures, and it helps him stay in touch with the brothers. "It's fun to find the composite pictures. I'll text the pictures to the guys and it gives us something to talk about," Matt says. Help is always needed and Matt encourages alumni to lend a hand. "You don't have to take a gigantic leap," he says. "Any little bit helps. Plus, no one is going to tell you no if you want to help out." Matt's advice to undergraduates or younger alumni is to constantly pursue something that will make them happy. He says if you're not happy with it, then don't do it. Matt lives in Lincoln with his wife, Brooke, and daughter, Collins. He jokes that he doesn't have much free time since he's always unclogging the Delt toilets.
