Delta Gamma page 7 CHAPTER ETERNAL Dorothy Busz Collinge '39 entered Chapter Eternal on January 27 in Glendale, Ariz. She was 94 years old. Sylvia Gilbert Riley '51 entered Chapter Eternal on January 19 at Balfour Retirement Community in Louisville, Kentucky. She met her husband, Byron Riley, on a blind date in Iowa City, and was married in 1953. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage, and lived and raised their six children in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sylvia graduated from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 1978 and worked as a special education aide and as an ESL instructor. Sylvia and Byron moved to Colorado in 2012 to be closer to family. Sylvia loved opera, reading, bridge, tennis, walking, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending summers on Lake Michigan in Door County, Wis. ALUMNAE NEWS Charlotte Penningroth Pence '44 enjoys traveling and has been to 62 different countries. Her hobbies also include gardening, playing bridge, and she is active in her Presbyterian Church and PEO group. Charlotte lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. E-mail: charppen@gmail.com Kaye McLarnan Byers '56 is part of a strong alumnae group in Colorado Springs. They have been supportive of the Fine Arts Museum Tactile Gallery since it opened 35 years ago. The group does vision screenings, and for two years has volunteered at the Warrior games for wounded service members held in Colorado Springs. "We are a diverse group of sisters from many different colleges and universities—always enjoying each other's company and traveling together." Eighteen members of the group took a trip to Santa Fe in April 2015. Kaye has eight grandchildren and lives in Monument, Colo. Susan Dell McDonald '72 retired in June 2015 from her career as a registered nurse. She and her husband, Steve, live in Clive, Iowa. They have two sons and one granddaughter. Kristen Beck '02 is active in the DG and athletic communities. She works at Fleet Feet Sports in Chicago, helping to put on athletic events and races for health and fitness as well as charities.
