3 SIGMA CHI A t the end of the summer, eight Beta Rho brothers attended the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (BLTW) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Several attending brothers were our younger members, who are already taking on leadership positions. The brothers were fortunate enough to accept the Peterson Significant Chapter Award, one of the highest honorary awards that Sigma Chi has to offer. Beta Rho has earned this award in two of the last three years. This award recognizes excellent performance by a chapter in all major areas of operation and programming. The Peterson plaque itself is a symbol of dedication, idealism, and achievement. The brothers returned to Bozeman with a heightened urge for success. House improvements have skyrocketed, prompting all brothers to assist in the improvements of personal rooms, the remodel of restrooms, and the addition of a new patio and basketball court in the chapter house's side yard. Beta Rho's success continued with our Derby Days philanthropy this fall. All of the sororities on campus participated, along with all active Beta Rho brothers in events such as a kickball tournament, a lip-sync competition, a video competition, and the brothers for charity auction. Beta Rho is proud to have raised $6,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. This year's events began on Friday, September 26, with a dinner at the chapter house. We presented our pirate-themed float during the parade on Saturday morning, where we were accompanied by the women of Alpha Omicron Pi. Alumni and actives then attended the football game, where the Bobcats made us all proud with a 29-18 win over North Dakota. Despite the weather being cold and rainy, we had a fantastic turnout. Thank you to the alumni who were able to attend. We look forward to seeing you at future events. Beta Rho invites all alumni to continue your involvement by participating in projects at the chapter house and in the community. Alumni, parents, and brothers enjoy a party at the chapter house the night before the Homecoming game. Brothers perform last-minute modifications to the pirate-themed Homecoming float before the Sigma Chi and pirate flags flew down the streets of Bozeman.
