Q: What made you gain a sense of pride as a Delta Xi member? A: I felt how great it was to be a part of something so much bigger and more impactful than I could ever be alone. Q: Were there any alumnae who had a positive influence on you? A: Judy Trice was our alumnae and recruitment advisor. As treasurer, I went to her house weekly and I was amazed at everything she did for Tri Delta. Q: How do you think Tri Delta helped you become who you are today? A: Tri Delta taught me the importance of being a part of something greater than just ourselves. The emphasis placed on making good grades had a direct impact on my landing a great job in public accounting right out of college. As chapter advisor, I have improved my leadership and people skills, utilized crucial conversation skills, and am reminded how important it is to slow down and enjoy the little joys in life. Q: What are some of your favorite Delta Xi memories? A: Some of my fondest memories were our pledge mom hunt and sidewalk songs during recruitment, something I wish every DDD had been able to experience. Our pledge walkout was a wild and wonderful memory. I would relive football weekends with donuts at the house before each game, Greeks decked out in suits and heels, and parties with live bands at the fraternities after each game. Q: Tell me about your time as chapter advisor. A: The 10 years I spent as advisor were an amazing time for me. The girls I worked with were fantastic, and it has been my honor to play a small part in their lives. I did, however, grow a few gray hairs during this time and learned multiple ways to ask, "What were you thinking?" Q: What motivated you to support the capital campaign? A: I supported the capital campaign because the chapter was a top house when I was in college and I want it to remain a top house for generations to come. The competition among Greek houses is all encompassing and the addition to our house has raised DDD to the top of the pack. We all walked away after graduation with more than we arrived with, including a tremendous sisterhood that was ours for life. Debbie is the director of financial operations for FCS Financial, a federally chartered lending institution for rural and agricultural communities in Jefferson City. She has three outstanding children who graduated from Mizzou and live in Kansas City, and four beautiful grandchildren with one due in June. "I left for school confident and ready for adventure, and Tri Delta just added to the passion I had. It fueled me to make a difference in life." As an undergraduate Lisa was heavily involved, running intramurals and skits, and helping with Greek week and Homecoming. "I was so happy and proud to be a Tri Delta at MU. We had many talented women who cared about the reputation of the house. We were close and had a lot of fun." Lisa loved Homecoming and pomping the house decs, and always enjoyed hanging out on the front porch in the fall and spring. "The people watching was amazing!" Life after college has not hindered Lisa's love of Tri Delta. "I always visit and stay involved with what is going on with the chapter." She has been a speaker at multiple Founders' Days. The capital campaign has provided another way for Lisa to be involved and give back to Delta Xi. "Tri Delta did so much for me. It warms my heart every time I think about my college experience and the house. I was thrilled to contribute to a place that allowed me to grow as a person and foster so many wonderful relationships." She hopes her sisters will join her in supporting Delta Xi. "How can you not get involved? It is important to give to the house that gave so much to all of us. It is our duty to make sure the house stays on top like it was when we were there." Today Lisa heads up the retail sector of Cenevo, where she designs and builds concepts and helps with in-store marketing, especially for the cosmetic business. She and her husband, Trent, have two children, Olivia and Eric, who are students at MICDS in St. Louis. The family loves to entertain, travel, follow college sports and the Cardinals, and workout. Lisa and Trent have a dinner club that has been going on for 20-plus years with three dear Tri Delta sisters and their husbands. "Tri Delta helped so much to shape my life. I built strong bonds and friendships. Tri Delta helped us all to be confident and leaders." "How can you not get involved....It is our duty to make sure the house stays on top like it was when we were there." H
