University of Kansas page 3 I t's been a busy semester at Gamma Tau, and as it winds down, I would like to share the chapter's recent successes and recap some exciting events. ACADEMICS CONTINUE TO IMPROVE This fall, the Gamma Tau Chapter achieved a 2.96 cumulative GPA, a .33 increase from the previous semester, and we are on track to finish even stronger this spring. The chapter has also accumulated more than 1,000 community service hours and participated in The Big Event community project. POSITIVE OUTLOOK ON RECRUITMENT We have a great recruitment class lined up for this fall and are excited to add to our roster during the rest of the semester and formal recruitment this summer. If you know of a potential member please contact our recruitment chairmen, or fill out the recommendation on page 4. DTD WELCOMES FACULTY ADVISOR This spring, we added a faculty academic advisor to our academic program. KU professor Matt Gillispie '96 has agreed to fulfill this role for the chapter. As for the rest of this semester, we had another successful alumni golf tournament on April 25 and date party at Kauffman Stadium to cheer on the Royals. THANK YOU, ALUMNI Lastly, on behalf of all of the active members, I would like to thank the alumni who have already donated to our Next 100 Years campaign. As each year goes by, it becomes more and more obvious how essential alumni support is to stay competitive with other fraternities on campus. Our alumni have been generous so far, and we are all very excited for the future of the Shelter.
