AnnuAl Golf
TournAmenT Held AT
AlAvAmAr Golf Club
O
n Saturday, April 25, 84 Gamma Tau
alumni survived a cold and wet day at
Alvamar Golf Club for the annual alumni golf
tournament. The day is about getting together
with friends, having fun, and trying to play a
little golf. Success was achieved on all three
accounts.
Some quotes heard during the day were: "His
swing looks like he's fighting off a swarm of
bees," "It was a good day because I didn't fall
out of the cart," and "If I had cleared the trees
and drove the green, it would've been a great
shot."
Since Alvamar has erasers on their pencils,
it took quite a while to add all the scores
through the smudges on the scorecards. After
an extensive audit, it was determined that the
team of Doug Fiscella '87, Rick Brown '87,
Randy Brown '87, and Jim Powell '89 were
victorious with a score of 61. In second place
with a 63 was the team of Mark Rasmussen
'84, Tom Biggins '84, Todd Minea '83, and
Dan Prendiville '85. Third place with a 64 was
the team of Tom Quillen '80, Kevin Callahan
'74, Joseph Horvat '92, and Greg Capps '81.
After the tournament, everyone returned to the
Shelter for some amazing barbecue and to share
stories of the day. As is always the case at the
annual golf tournament, the most reliable shot is
always the double at the 19th.
