GAMMA TAU: The Next 100 Years Eleven Eleven Report Gamma Tau Chapter of Delta Tau Delta university of kansas n Fall 2014 W hen we look back at our own Delta Tau Delta experience, we can see how the friendships, leadership, and service—even decades ago—helped shape who we are today. We are thankful for our close friendships with Gamma Tau brothers, for the leadership development that helped us become successful community members, and for the numerous opportunities gained through Delta Tau Delta membership. I still remember, as I'm sure you do, the great times we had together at the Shelter and the memories we created. Our Shelter at 1111 11th Street has been part of Gamma Tau's legacy for more than 85 years. Since our reemergence on campus in 2006, the House Corporation has overseen more than $750,000 worth of physical and financial upgrades to our Shelter. We are once again attracting some of the top men at the University of Kansas, including several legacies, and it is important that we stay on par with other fraternity houses. The safety and comfort of our youngest brothers are our top priority. We must offer them a structurally sound and safe Shelter. Given these immediate needs, the Gamma Tau alumni leaders have developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Delt experience at KU. I am proud to announce Gamma Tau: The Next 100 Years campaign to secure our success at the University of Kansas. This campaign will allow Delta Tau Delta to meet the living expectations and rapidly changing academic needs of the modern student, provide appropriate living quarters for our housemother, ensure our brothers' safety and make the Shelter competitive with other the Greek facilities on campus. Donations made in excess of our goal will be used to further stabilize our financial situation by reducing the mortgage. Early commitments from 41 generous alumni, undergraduates, and friends total more than $860,750. This is a great start, but we need your help to reach our campaign goal of $1.1 million. This is the time to remember your Gamma Tau experience. Remember what impact Delta Tau Delta had on you and think about how your life has been affected by your membership and your brothers. It is only through the lifelong bonds of Delt brotherhood that future generations may share the same experience. We need you now more than ever! In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project, the campaign, and ways in which you can help. We will be honored to have you join our growing list of loyal supporters who are leaving their legacy and providing for future generations, as previous brothers did for all of us. Thank you for your loyalty, consideration, and support of Delta Tau Delta at the University of Kansas.
