4 www.DesertMessenger.com October 1, 2014 Police receives GOHS grants JAM (Jesus and Me) Ministries, of Quartzsite First Assembly of God Church, will hold their annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, October 4th, from 5pm - 7pm at Quartzsite First Assembly of God Church. You can purchase tick- ets from any of the JAM Ministry lead- ers or the children. Tickets will also be sold at the door. $6 per plate includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and a dessert. The church is located at 665 W. Tyson St., Quartzsite. Your donations supporting this event will help children attend summer camp, and the Annual Fall Festival being held October 25th at the Community Center. It will be held at Tyson's Show Grounds on West Keuhn. There will be raffl es and a fi fty-fi fty drawing. You need not be present to win. The grant was used to purchase and outfi t a police Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle that is to be used for traffi c enforcement. The new patrol vehicle has been in operation since June 23rd. The vehicle it has been a great tool for the Po- lice Department and has helped offi cers keeping the roadways safer for the community/public What in the World is Happening? Grief support By Dinice Ross We are short participants for the up-coming 'Walk With The Past' put on by the Cemetery Board, at the Hi Jolly Cemetery, November 1st from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This year's event theme is "Remembering our Veterans". Each participant (actor, player) will portray a Veteran, or family member, in the Pioneer section of the Hi Jolly Cemetery.
