kai FROM PI 2 Our bike team came in eighth place in last spring's Little 500. The 2014-15 bike team is looking forward to another successful year of training and hard work. Our annual Dropping the Puck philanthropy was a success, raising over $35,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association. I 'm excited to welcome the chapter back for the start of another year at Indiana University. In late August, brothers arrived at the house and began unpacking their belongings into their new home for the year on North Jordan. There are 72 members living in the chapter house with most seniors living out of the house. Last year, Pi Chapter finished the year on a very high note. • We placed eighth in the Little 500 race, contending for the first place finish up until the last lap. • The chapter received the prestigious Leadership Development Excellence Award at the annual Greek Awards on campus. • Sean Jordan '14 was named IFC Man of the Year for his involvement on campus as IFC president. • Our GPA was 3.22, placing us in the top five among fraternities on campus. In the first weeks of September, the chapter started the recruitment process, which has become more formalized throughout the Greek system, requiring freshmen to visit every fraternity in the first week of recruitment. After the first week, we continued with our usual process of hosting an open house, followed by invite-only dinners. Our goal is to take a class of 30 students this semester. The Pi Chapter is excited to begin another successful year at Indiana University. Please reach out to me for more information or questions about the chapter and be on the lookout for information regarding alumni events in the late fall or early spring.
