OUR NEXT 100 YEARS PURSUING EXCELLENCE Creating spaces that facilitate achievement Our chapter house has a historic quality—with Tudor-style architecture and an estate-like curb appeal. The interior should inspire our brothers much the same way the exterior impresses passersby. Our goal is to create spaces which impact the most important areas of our fraternity: rooms designed to foster brotherhood, welcome alumni, promote academics, encourage leadership, perform rituals, and enhance the competitive edge of both the fraternity and its members. KEEPING BROTHERS SAFE & COMFORTABLE Infrastructure needs Recently, our house developed structural problems about which you have undoubtedly heard. Temporary repairs were made, but they are just that—temporary. Furthermore, the electrical system simply does not meet the needs of current students, who bring to school on average over 18 items that require electricity. And, heating and plumbing pipes and fixtures throughout the chapter house need to be replaced with more efficient and cost-effective systems. Our house must be efficient, safe, and comfortable to meet student and parent expectations. SETTING OURSELVES APART Competition Chapters like AKL, Alpha Sig, Pike, and Theta Xi (just to name a few) have made facility upgrades, and other chapters are considering similar projects. We must also compete with the amenities offered in newly renovated on-campus residence halls and off-campus apartments. Bottom line: For Lambda Chi Alpha to survive and thrive at the University of Illinois, we must upgrade our facility. The alumni and undergraduate leadership has developed a solid plan to address long- term viability. PRESENT DAY CHI ZETA Academics 3.04 G.P.A.
