AUGUST Ladies Support Group, Second Tuesday After the death or divorce of a spouse, one deals not only with personal bereavement, but also with new dilemmas in almost every aspect of life. Employment, financial and legal affairs, housing arrangements, and even meal prepara- tion are all situations that present new challenges. In handling these altered circumstances, many people around the country are finding an important source of support and guidance in voluntary support programs, which put them in touch with others who have themselves, experienced similar situations. The Cleveland County Council on Aging/Senior Center has a Ladies Support Group for ladies 55 years or better. This group provides a variety of programs that deal with such topics as caring for your car, depression, cooking for one, self-protection and health infor- mation. It is a great way to learn new things and socialize with people in your community. Coping with life after the death or divorce of a loved one becomes even more difficult as one realizes and deals with unfamiliar activities and loneliness. We welcome you to come and experience the camaraderie with this wonderful group of ladies. They meet monthly for educational, social and recreation events. The Ladies Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Senior Center at 11:30 for lunch and a program. For further information please call Kathy Cobb at the Senior Center at 704-482-3488.
