I be- lieve the judiciary plays a central role in preserving the principles of justice and rule of law. To have an indepen- dent, fair and impartial judiciary is indispensable. 8. My husband Paul and I were mar- ried in 1998, and we have two wonder- ful children. Emily is a sophomore at Salome High School, and Vinnie is in 7th grade at Quartzsite Elementary School. My family has been involved in the community through the Satur- day Night "Cruise In" at the Shell Sta- tion, five years of involvement with the 4H Club, and ten years of involvement with the Quartzsite Elementary School. 9. I believe I will be inheriting an excellent justice court. The court staff are already highly trained, and the court has a reputation for impartial- ity and fairness. My goal will be to continuing leading the court staff to increase their knowledge of all legal areas covered by a justice court. We have an excellent team that is commit- ted to supporting whoever is the next Justice of the Peace. 10. I will continue to promote in- creased public confidence with the legal process in the town of Quartzsite. The Courage of Integrity: The highest courage is to dare to be yourself in the face of adversity. Choosing right over wrong, ethics over convenience, and truth over popularity...these are the choices that measure your life. Travel the path of integrity without looking back, for there is never a wrong time to do the right thing. JEFF GILBERT 2. Justice of the Peace – Precinct 4 3. Open Position 4. Email: gilbertforjp4@gmail.com – FB GilbertForJP4 5. 21 years of professional experience, knowledge and training in the criminal justice field as a certified police officer, Chief of Police and manager, dealing with the issues, problems and concerns that might be brought before the court. Not to mention 57 years of real life experience. 6. 8 Years 7. I am running for the position of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, know- ing that I can make a positive impact in the communities of Precinct 4. If elected, I want the Justice Court to be a true "People's Court" where every citizen knows they have a voice and will be listened to. I am dedicated to serving this position with fairness, dig- nity and respect, and will ensure that the Justice Court serves the citizens with honesty, integrity and equal- ity. The responsibilities of the Justice of the Peace are not limited to office hours, and I am committed to making myself available for my duties and to law enforcement 24/7 when needed. I have the experience in budgeting, personnel and day-to-day office man- agement that will bring fiscal responsi- bility and accountability to the Justice Court. An efficient and effective court is not evaluated by the size of its budget nor the amount of monies col- lected, it is measured by the applica- tion of justice, fairness, integrity and in gaining and maintaining public trust. My top priorities if elected will be to make an assessment of the office, identify the case load and to establish a criteria for management of the cases, as well as maintaining and establishing an effective working relationship with fellow JPs." 8. Since leaving my position as the Quartzsite Chief of Police last year, I have been taking somewhat of a break. However I have always participated in public functions throughout the com- munity as a Town leader helping when and where I can. I will continue to do so if elected as the next Justice of the Peace throughout the communities I would serve. 9. Case management. I will assess the procedures of the court and ensure that the citizens are continued to be served efficiently and fully. 10. By ensuring that the Justice Court of Precinct 4 serves the citizens with fairness, dignity and respect. The following candidates are running for Quartzsite Constable JP 4 (in alphabetical order) STARR BEARCAT 2. Constable JP4 3. Incumbent 4. Email ConstableBearCat@yahoo. com 5. Previous training throughout my life along with mandated and extended training through the Arizona Con- stable Association. Extensive hours of training certified by AZPOST. Experi- ence on the Job, Treating people with Respect, Integrity, and Honesty. 6. 4 years 7. To continue to uphold a high stan- dard in the office of the Constable. As one JP Judge said, " A Constable does the dirty work of the Court". This includes holding the Court to a high standard as well. A Constable working with the Court needs to maintain the highest ethics and standards so the public can maintain their trust in the court system. As a Constable it is part of the oath to uphold the Laws of the Federal, State, County, Town/City and execute the lawful orders of the court. 8. Videoing Town Council Meetings for the Community and posting them on YouTube. Serving on the Municipal Utility Advisory Committee. Volun- teered for numerous activities and organizations, including the official videographer for The GRAND Gather- ing's Guinness World Record. Attends numerous Town related meetings and provides ideas and suggestions to resolve issues. 9. Water & Sewer. Repair and expand the infrastructure of the town. Find a way to stabilize the governing body. Find a way to attract new Businesses for year-round service. Work to attract investors to create things for people to do year-round, like a Swimming Pool and Water park with a exercise center inside for year round use. Better Medi- cal facilities for all ages. Better Schools with Music, arts, and Sports. 10. By keeping a high standard of Ethics, Integrity, Honesty and Experi- ence with continued Training. To help the people. Educate people on how the laws that I enforce, at the direction of a judge, work without giving any legal advice. Help people to recover their property and help to keep the peace through Court ordered Protective orders. The important part is to live up to the oath of my office. It does not matter if it is the Judge or their staff or a person on the street or my best friend; if the court orders it, the court order is carried out as directed by the court. The Constable is responsible for the Justice Court (JP) and the Sheriff is responsible for the Superior Court, the duties may overlap at times.
