Former Mayor Chuck Busby’s widow, Myrna Busby was honored to perform the ribbon cutting. Mayor Busby initiat- ed many beautifi cation and improvment projects around town before his passing in 2008. • Attending from ADOT in Phoenix was Jaime Hernandez, Gregory Johnson, Isabelle Garcia, Gaby Gonzalez Kemp; • From Nickle Contracting: Ryan Nickle, Owner, Mike Perez, Project Superintendent; • Town of Quartzsite Staff: Alex Taft, Emmett Brinkerhoff, Nora Yackley, Al Johnson; • Town Council: Jerry Lukkasson, Patri- cia Anderson; • From Principle Engineering Group: Triguna Israel, P.E. owner. The projects consists of a new land- scaped corridor with an eight foot wide multi-use pathway and other pedestrian amenities including benches, seat walls, covered shade canopies, trash cans and pedestrian LED solar lights. The trans- portation enhancement projects will al- low town residents to access critical town locations such as Town Hall, Town Li- brary and the Police Station more easily. The Quail Trail & Plymouth Road beau- tifi cation project is part of the town of Quartzsite’s Capital Improvement Plan and was largely funded by federal Trans- portation Enhancement grants. The proj- ect cost approximately $460,000 and took about fi ve months to complete.
