Greater Vision - Southern Gospel at it’s finest - Wonderful for entire family - Invite friends and family Offering will be taken Featured on the Gaither Gospel Series Singing News Magazine and the Southern Gospel Music Association have named Greater Vision Gospel Music’s Favorite Trio Opener: The Townley Family Tuesday, May 3re 6:30 p.m. 1005 So. Jackson St., Red Bluff First Church of God Love Judgement Day is coming, not May 21 Greetings to all in the glorious name of our King Jesus Christ! In 1992, Harold Camping, a syndi- cated television preacher operating out of Oakland, California, penned the fol- lowing words: "The results of this study indicate that the month of Sep- tember of the year 1994 is to be the time for the end of history." Some 3,500 years earlier, Moses wrote: "[W]hen a prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him" (Dt. 18:22). It is 2011, a decade later, and the world has not ended. Harold Camping may have good intentions, but he is Biblically accountable and he is no prophet. Numerous other fallacies within his doctrine raise red flags of warning for the true disciple of Christ. There is not enough time to address each issue; I only ask that the Believer in Jesus research this issue in direct correlation with God's Word. Mr. Camping uses many scriptures to justify his "Judg- ment Day" doctrine so it would be easy to be deceived if we are not bask- ing in His Word and the confirmation of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, as well as through proven, trustworthy teach- ers of scripture. The bottom line is that we are to heed the book of Acts, when Jesus tells the disciples gazing into the heav- ens after His ascension: "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Fellow Believers, we have work to do, a Great Commission to fulfill, and we must focus on the labor at hand! The lost of the world need the glorious message of the Gospel of Christ! We must be diligent about our calling, not falling prey to the whims of emotion and the deception of the enemy that can skew our vision and affix us to dates and times rather than the task of reconciling the world to God. Jesus is coming back, but to consume ourselves with a specific date is unbiblical, unprofitable, and will tend to breakdown trust from an unbelieving world. What happens when we all wake up the morning after Camp- ing’s date of Judgment, May 21, and realize we’ve been duped again? How will we minister to the lost who have sat by and watched our idio- cy? We do not know the exact timing of God's Grace, but we know we are in it and must be busy about His work before this season ends. Camping" for yourself and read the plethora of information that invades your browser. Mr. Camping tells us to "Leave the Church", hence discount- ing all of the Godly men and women who will refute his claims and lead us back to the bal- anced Gospel of Truth. This is a well used tactic of satan to discredit anyone who would provide opin- ions and evidence contrary to his own. Rob Kee GodTalk Instead of jumping on bandwagons let us follow the counsel of our broth- er Peter: "And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blame- less in his sight. And remember, the Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him— speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to under- stand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction. Take the time to Google "Harold The Red Bluff Ministerial Association invites commu- nity leaders and the public to join them for a breakfast for the National Day of Prayer at 7 a.m., Thursday, May 5, at the Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 S. Jackson St. Pastor Steve Igarta of Red Bluff Vineyard Church and president of the Ministerial Association invites civic, busi- ness, educational and religious leaders in the community to join together in a community-wide expression of faith. The National Day of Prayer is founded in a national his- tory of public prayer and national days of prayer are part of the American tradition. The first call to prayer was in 1775 when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation. The call to prayer has con- tinued through our history. In 1952, Harry S. Truman declared a National Day of Prayer and signed into law an annual observance thereof. In 1988, Ronald Reagan signed into law the designation of the first Thursday in May as the annual observance for the There is no accountabil- ity in Mr. Camping's methodology, in which his predictions are as loosely tied together as his reasons for the unfulfilled prophe- cy of 1992 and his unsup- ported Biblical doctrine. I do not have all of the answers, but I do have the Spirit of God, along with you who have been called by Christ, through the Grace and Mercy of God, provided by the shed blood of His Son. Pray, fast and seek the Lord through His Word. Make sure you are in a Bible believing church and surround yourself with proven Godly men and women who will act as your coun- selors. Scripture is clear that in the end times even the very mature may be deceived. May the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of our glorious Father, be with us all, and may the Holy Spirit open our eyes! Rest in His completed works and be diligent about His Great Commission! Rob Kee was the long time pastor of Harvest Christian Center in Corning before accepting a call to minister in Lompoc. He contributesas a long time friend of Tehama County. Community leaders invited to prayer breakfast National Day of Prayer. National Day of Prayer will also be honored in Red- ding.
