The art categories were Dance Choreogra- phy, Film Production, Music Com- position, Photography, Visual Art, and Literature. We would like to thank our three judges, Bill Burks, Brenda Wilson, and Billie Fowler. They did not have it easy judging on how well the students used his or her artistic vision to portray their theme. Our contestants shown above, left to right are Alyssa Phillips, Becky Peterson, Evangelina Price, Anastasia Greimel, Joey Bowles, and Danielle Gleason. All of the art pieces were sent to Phoenix for the state Art Contest. Each student was given a medal for participating. The national contest has not been held yet and winners to advance will be notifi ed to attend ceremony in Phoenix in June. The Town of Quartzsite and members of the Town Council will hold a public work session to discuss sewer rates. Thursday, April 17th at 9am. No ac- tion by the council will be taken. A Work Session will be held for the following: Presentation and discus- sion on sewer rates for the Town of Quartzsite. For more information, contact Town Hall at 928-927-4333. Town to hold Sewer rate work session April 17 9am Quartzsite Vice Mayor Member Mike Jewitt asked about the water rates during a discussion on the current budget at the April 8th regular meeting. He said that Town Manager Bruno stated that the water fund is going to be in the hole, to put it bluntly, and that we will have to dig into Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) again. Jewitt stated we cannot dig into HURF, it is not legal. Town Manager Bruno explained that the same thing is happening with the water fund as has hap- pened with the sewer funds; that is, going without revenue adjust- ments to the rates for many years. Bruno said, ""It's not legal, but from a cash fl ow perspective, that's what we'll have to do." She said the Town has had a pre- liminary water rate study done and whenever the Council is ready, it can be brought forward. The item is expected to be on the agenda for Tuesday April 22nd.
