The press release from the department comes just days after the Tehama County Sheriff's Department issued a similar warning about in - creases in thefts from vehi- cles in the Antelope Boule- vard and Adobe Road areas. The police department re- ported there were 16 thefts from motor vehicles and 10 vehicle burglaries in March. "Although these numbers might not be considered stag- gering, it shows nearly each day of the month, someone in Red Bluff was victimized," the press release said. Nine of those incidents were committed in the For - ward Addition, Country Vil- lage and Highland Bluffs ar- eas. Red Bluff » Rodeo's spring break is back in Red Bluff with the 93rd annual Red Bluff Round-Up Rodeo, scheduled for April 18-20 at the Tehama District Fair - ground. For rodeo cowboys, the Round-Up is one of the first rodeos outdoors after a long, cold winter, and for rodeo fans, it heralds the begin - ning of outdoor activities and springtime. Even after nine decades, the excitement is just as high for the rodeo that packs the stands with thousands of fans, wanting to see the pro rodeo, the horse and mule ra ce s, t he Wi ld R ide on S un - day and the great competi- tion from several hundred pro rodeo cowboys and cow- girls. Ticket sales are going well, says Dave Ramelli, Red Bluff Round-Up president, and new things are in the works for this year. He's been to Red Bluff numerous times in the past and brings a new act this year, his two steers named The Impaler and Big Hoss. Big Hoss' horn spread is 7 feet, 2 inches, and the Im - paler lives up to his name — he stuck a horn through the fence one day and tried to gore Payne. The steers are new to the One Arm Bandit's show, so he's excited to bring them to Red Bluff. This year's rodeo is Easter weekend, so the rodeo com - mittee has planned an Eas- ter morning church service at the rodeo grounds. cowBoyS ROUND-UP RODEO ROPES RED BLUFF ticket sales are going well, says dave Ramelli, Red Bluff Round-up president, and new things are in the works for this year. The 23-year-old Red Bluff native, who at the tail end of last year fin- ished in the Top 15 of the American Country Star competition in Nash- ville, Tenn., will be busy come April 19, when he is scheduled to perform in the Red Bluff Round-Up parade, sing the national anthem before the second performance of the rodeo at the fairgrounds and open for Mark Chestnutt in the evening. Bushnell has been through this before, but he said in an interview Friday that he still has to over - come the nerves of performing the national anthem before the thousands that fill the grandstands at the Tehama District Fairground. On top of that, he says he has to start and complete "The Star-Span - gled Banner" in 1 minute, 30 seconds to coordinate with a scheduled fighter jet fly over. "I have to be done when the jets are flying over," Bushnell said. "So it has to be exactly a minute, 30 seconds." He said he's been hitting that time fairly consis - tently by recording himself at home on his phone, which may make an appearance come show time at the rodeo.
